Grand Junction

Ariel started here. In 1994, Grand Junction had few options for children in foster care whose needs went beyond what a traditional placement could offer, and Ariel was founded to be one. Three decades later this office is still our home base and our largest, serving children, families, and adults across the Western Slope. If you live in Mesa, Rio Blanco, Garfield, Eagle, Gunnison, Delta, Montrose, Ouray, or Montezuma County, this is your regional headquarters (HQ). Not sure which office is yours? Any office can point you to the right one.

From this office, we offer:

  • Foster Care | Therapeutic and traditional foster care, with case managers and family time staff based here.
  • Youth Mentoring | One-on-one mentoring for children and youth, by referral.
  • Child and Family Therapy | In-house therapists who work down the hall from case managers and family time staff.
  • Residential Services | Host homes and other living options for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), with case management, nursing, and benefits navigation alongside.
  • Day Program | Daytime activities, skill building, and community outings for Members (the adults we serve).
  • Vocational Services | Community employment, the Work Crew, and jobs at Ariel’s own social enterprises.
  • Adult I/DD Therapy | In-house therapy for adults with I/DD.

Two of Ariel’s social enterprises are a short drive from this office: Perdita’s Coffee and Charley’s Cookies. Members work at both, and when colleagues visit from the Front Range, a latte and a fresh cookie is how we show them around. If you’re in town, stop in.
