Parenting Time

The Parenting Time program provides supervised visits for children who are currently placed out of home or in the custody of another parent or relative. The program is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for parents to interact with their children with our main goal to support healthy interactions between parent and child. In the visits, staff maintains neutral observations of interactions and encourages positive parenting strategies while providing guidance and feedback to parents on potentially negative parenting strategies. The staff of the Parenting Time program understands the importance of the parent-child relationship to the child’s sense of security and self worth. In child welfare cases, the first goal is to reunify children and birth parents whenever possible. Our Parenting Time program aims to support that reunification by providing a safe place with guidance for the parent to learn and practice positive parenting strategies.
